Drone flights in Downtown Dubai need approval. We apply for the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority permit and coordinate access around the Burj Khalifa with Emaar.

Our approach
Why a projection is hard to film well
The Burj Khalifa holds the Guinness World Record for the largest LED-illuminated facade, at 44,956 square metres. Making it look as good on screen as it does in person takes planning.
A few minutes per showing
Each display runs for only a few minutes, so every camera position is planned and tested before the first one starts.
Exposed for the LEDs
The facade is far brighter than the city around it. We expose for the display so your colours and logo stay readable.
No flicker or banding
Shutter speed and frame rate are matched to the LED screen, so the facade looks clean on camera.

FENDI takeover of the Burj Khalifa
FENDI took over the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai with 10 projections, one every 30 minutes, across Burj Park and the Dubai Fountain area. We filmed the whole night from the air and the ground to show the full scale of the event.
Series launch
Riot Games: the Arcane launch
Riot Games launched its Netflix series Arcane in the Middle East with a Burj Khalifa projection. We filmed it, edited it and delivered the final video the same evening for the global press release.

Honor flagship phone launch
Honor launched a new flagship phone on the world’s tallest building. We coordinated the airspace and ground positions to film the full sequence, and the video ran across its international launch campaign.

Burj Khalifa projection filming: common questions
- Do you book the display on the Burj Khalifa?
- No. Display slots on the Burj Khalifa’s LED facade are sold by Emaar, which owns the tower, and Emaar approves the content before it runs. Once your slot is booked, we film it.
- How far ahead should we contact you?
- As soon as you have a display date. The drone permit for Downtown Dubai normally takes 14 to 16 working days. For government projects and major events it can sometimes be expedited, but that is decided case by case and never guaranteed.
- What do you need from us for a quote?
- The display date and showing times, the number of showings, whether you want the launch event covered, and where the video will run: social media, press or broadcast.
- Do you work with brands and agencies outside the UAE?
- Yes. Many projection clients are international brands and their agencies. We handle the local permits, crew and delivery, so your team only needs to approve the edit.
